Restorative Yoga

Molly is a Registered 500hr Yoga Teacher with specialties in adaptive yoga, Yoga Nidra, and Restorative Yoga. These classes are offered in the group format, geared toward individual in palliative care, and active cancer treatment.

Restorative Yoga is another application of yoga asana used to help the body heal and restore itself. It is designed to slowly and gradually open the body while prompting the parasympathetic nervous system to come online and initiate a healing response. Restorative yoga is slow and grounding, holding no more than five poses in a one-hour class.

This style of yoga utilizes props such as bolsters, blankets, blocks, and sandbags to help the practitioner feel supported in their practice. Typically, restorative classes do not have standing asanas incorporated into their sequences. Restorative Yoga is used for healing as well as injury prevention, and an increased flow of energy.
